Thematic areas

TECHNOLOGICAL OBJECTIVES

The thematic areas of the CLEVER Cluster reflect the main areas of interest on which the cluster focuses its activities. These areas are defined in alignment with the Regional Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) and the Cluster’s own technological objectives.

The area with the highest number of members is related to energy and sustainable mobility. We focus on the energy transition by promoting the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and the development of Renewable Energy Communities (CER). Over the years, we have developed specific expertise in hydrogen supply chain technologies, CCUS (Carbon Capture, Usage, and Storage) technologies, components and infrastructure for sustainable mobility, and alternative fuels.

In the field of circular economy and bioeconomy, we explore applications of green chemistry, waste valorization, and the recovery of secondary raw materials, with a strong emphasis on waste reuse and Nature-Based Solutions.

We foster the development of products and processes with an eco-design and sustainability approach, encouraging the use of sustainable materials, the reduction of chemical substances, and the adoption of environmental certifications.

We support the adoption of innovative technologies to improve water cycle management, reducing consumption and promoting the reuse of wastewater across different sectors.

With a focus on protecting the territory and infrastructure from the effects of climate change, we assist members developing applications for environmental monitoring, landslide risk mitigation, emergency management, and sustainable agriculture.
