The Cluster

The CLEVER Cluster (Cleantech&Energy innoVation clustER) is one of the 7 Innovation Clusters in the Piedmont Region and operates within the Energy and Clean Technologies.

The CLEVER Cluster operates in the technological and operational areas of energy and energy efficiency, water resources, circular economy, infrastructure and distribution networks, sustainable mobility and clean solutions.

CLEVER aims to support its members in developing their own innovation paths by providing services, technical and methodological support, and dedicated infrastructure.

CLEVER’s objectives:

Make high value-added infrastructures and services available

Interpret the technological needs of enterprises

Target regional actions to support research and innovation

Foster knowledge sharing

Support the convergence of investments on development trajectories of innovative products or services

The Cluster currently counts more than 130 members, including large, medium and small enterprises, innovative “start-ups” and public and private research organisations.

The CLEVER Cluster is part
of “Sistema dei Poli di Innovazione
della Regione Piemonte”

CLEVER collaborates with other 7 Innovation Clusters in a synergistic way, forming an integrated regional innovation ecosystem known as Sistema dei Poli.

Created by the Piedmont Region, the Sistema dei Poli works in a cross-sectoral dimension, defining a common programme of action with activities focused on 3 priority transversal transitions in line with the regional development strategy (S3): Ecological Transition, Digital Transformation, Well-being and Community.

The common objective is to foster growth and innovation within the regional business system.

CLEVER supports local realities in developing their own innovation paths towards the ecological transition.

Visit the Piedmont Region website page dedicated to innovation clusters.

The CLEVER Innovation Cluster’s Temporary Association (ATS, Associazione Temporanea di Scopo) and the Regulation govern the internal relations between the Parties (mandataries and members), to allow better collaboration in the development, implementation and management of the Cluster. The membership of the Cluster’s ATS is open to all parties interested to make innovation in the Energy and Cleantech themes. To apply for membership of the CLEVER Cluster, follow the instructions on the dedicated page.

The Managing Entities

Environment Park

Environment Park was founded in Turin in 2000: the Science and Technology Park that encourages the growth of innovation by collaborating with companies that focus on environmental sustainability as a development engine for new business opportunities. The park hosts more than 60 entities.

Its work has always been oriented to promote the link between innovation and enterprise, create networks on the territory, stimulate the growth of innovation and promote environmental sustainability, sharing its own laboratories – “open innovation lab” – to test innovative technologies with low environmental impact.

Environment Park managed, from 2009 to 2016, the Cluster of Innovation Sustainable Building and Hydrogen – POLIGHT.

Consorzio UNIVER

Consorzio UniverUniversità e Impresa Vercelli Consortium – was founded in the mid-1990s as an operational branch of local authorities and businesses to facilitate innovation paths.

For over 25 years, the Consortium has been acting as an operational structure available on the territory, facilitating and exploiting the synergy between local actors and specialist expertise by stimulating and promoting links between business and universities through research and innovation.

The Univer Consortium has been the manager of the ENERMHY (Renewable Energy and Mini Hydro) Innovation Cluster.
